These are all the reasons why Sri Lanka needs to be your next bucket list destination. We mapped out the iconic train ride to Kandy, the country’s most amazing photo ops, and best of all, how to make authentic Sri Lankan curry!
No place screams TROPICAL VACATION quite like the Philippines. We island hopped around Coron and El Nido on the island of Palawan for 10 days and came away tan, tired, and completely blissed out.
Vang Vieng is a backpackers playground: lazy boozy rivers, hidden jungle lagoons, and hot air ballooning is all we’re gonna say for now.
Luang Prabang is home to a gorgeous colonial-style downtown, a vibrant textile and crafts scene, and some of the most fun waterfalls in Southeast Asia. Plus, the water-soaked Songkran festival in Luang Prabang is less crowded and just as fun as Thailand!
Often overlooked by backpackers on their route through Vietnam, Da Lat really is must-stop location in the southern half of your itinerary. If you’re brave enough, get ready to strap on your helmet and harness your ropes for an epic adventure.
Railay Beach, just near Ao Nang and easily reachable from Krabi, is known for its stellar adventure scene. Rent a kayak, do some SUP’ing, or spend a day climbing the famous karst cliffs. It’s impossible to be bored here.
Bali, Bali, Bali. Countless things to see and do! From expat region of Seminyak and Canggu, to the rural peaks of Mount Batur, there are so many cool places to escape to on Indonesia’s popular island getaway.
Komodo National Park was a high item on the bucket list for us, and we were not disappointed! Hiking with the epic Komodo dragons, cruising the Komodo marine park, AND diving with manta rays? Three thumbs up.
Hiking Mount Batur is a big ticket item for visiting Bali, but expect to make some necessary preparations. It all pays off when you get to watch the sun rise over an active volcano.
Bubblegum and cotton candy. In lake form. Of course we found it. And we took lots of pictures.
Deciding to include Tasmania in our packed 2-month Australia itinerary can be summed up in a very casual, “well, why not?” Despite getting some serious colds, probably from staying up for nearly 48 hours, we made the most of our adventure up the east coast.
At the very end of the South Island lays a beautiful wild expanse of sea and mountains. Cruising New Zealand’s Fiordlands rings in as an all-time favorite experience for us.
